Daily Habits Create Overnight Success

Tags :

Nearly everyone has seen the overnight success, someone who pops up out of nowhere and is sensational. What creates overnight success? Is it related to their daily habits?

The first time you see a forest, a major metropolitan city, or the Grand Canyon you might be amazed with their stature. In most cases, they appear to us suddenly, although when we think about it we know they have been there for quite some time.

Large trees were once very small, big cities and the Grand Canyon, same thing. This is true for nearly any significant success story. They might appear to us suddenly but have been in progress for a long time.

It Just Happened

It’s tempting to believe that it just happened, that suddenly, unexplainably, they just appeared. Some trees grow more rapidly than others, big cities too. Many Geologists tells us the Grand Canyon was a process of erosion over a long period of time.

As it turns out discovery is different from the build. Building great things typically takes some time. It is the choices we make, the seeds that we plant, and what we build upon day after day that creates what stands in front of us.

Those quick fixes, urgent reactions, and short cuts will only really matter if they are repeated day in and day out for months or even years.

Overnight Success

The first time you see it isn’t how it was built. It wasn’t the labor of a single day. In fact, from one day to the next you might not notice much change.

Discovering of it happens in a moment. Creating it likely didn’t happen overnight.

What you do today, repeated every day, across time is how you create overnight success.

The best discovery of all might not be the finished product. It might be understanding how it was built.
